Inherited or new : Neurofibromatosis can be passed from parent to child as an autosomal dominant trait, meaning an affected parent can pass a single gene to their son/daughter and they get the disease. At least half of nf cases arise as a new gene mutation in a kid.

Many manifestations: Neurofibromatosis, inherited problem,varying degrees of involvement from mild to severe. Neurofibroma benign tumor that originates from nerve cells.Tumors usually arise from nerves in skin or just under the skin.NF1 usually appears in children with brown flat skin spots, freckling in armpits,and soft tumors under the skin and sometimes bone deformity.NF2 acoustic or vestibular neuromas of brain.
