From none to many!: They can be asymptomatic to just causing pain usually in neck with headaches to just causing neurologic symptoms like weakness, numbness, tingling, dexterity & balance issues or both. Even bowel/bladder control issues could arise with spinal cord compression leading to a condition known as myleopathy. Pain, numbness, weak: C3-c4 discs cause neck pain, pain radiatiing to both arms, numbness both arms; if compression is more severe, weakness of legs, unsteadiness and bladder problems. Mri scan will make the diagnosis. Depending on size of disc herniation and degree of compression, surgery may be indicated.
