Need exam & Xray: Can't tell for sure, but could be an infection, a cyst or a spicule of bone that's finally worked itself out--all would be tender to touch. In rare cases ( usually older), it could be a form of tumor--not likely at your age. Best to get it checked out.

Lump: If nothing "showed" up on the x-ray then it is not a "bone" problem. Return to your dentist and see if this soft tissue "lump" should be excised or left alone.

Go Back: Anytime a lump or bump shows up or remains for a period of time, the safe route is to have it checked. Could be nothing, a cyst, cancer, etc. Don't wait on something like this, go asap.
