Often: The same meds (prednisone, plaquenil, (hydroxychloroquine) methotrexate) are often used for both diseases. However, tnf agents are more effective for juvenile arthritis than lupus.

Kid autoimmune Rx: There are medications that overlap for the treatment of children with lupus vs. Jia. Both are autoimmune conditions and treatment is based on treating with anti-inflammatories (steroids, nsaids) and treating with immunosuppressants (disease modifying agents, and biologics). Not all medications are used for both conditions.
