A member asked:

When hems bleed, do they shrink to a smaller size than they were before?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not necessarily: The only hemorrhoid that may shrink could be if there is bleeding from a firm painful thrombosed external hemorrhoid that could resolve after bleeding. Otherwise as long as the hemorroid vein is connected, it will continually refill again with blood.
