What could happen if you start taking a new antidepressant without weaning yourself off of the old one?

If both increase : Serotonin levels - you might give your self a double whammy & ^ risk for serotinergic syndrome. If one of the antidepressants is a monoamine oxidase inhibitor - you could become very ill.
