See answer : Brintellex (vortioxetine) is one of newest ssri-class antidepressants approved by fda 9/2013. It's mechanism of action differs from other ssris in that it influences the availability of the neurotransmitter serotonin by five different mechanisms. Whether this translates into either better efficacy or reduced potential adverse reactions has not been definitively shown in the opinion of the fda.
