Depression: If noticing a change in your mood like depression, you need a medical evaluation to determine its nature and intensity plus check on your general health. Working with a therapist can help you review aspects of your life which might be triggers, what can be done about them, and take actions to improve your situation. Psychiatrists can help with deeper depressions that might require meds.

Good for you: Good for you; you are having symptoms of depression and decided to take action and ask for help. Feel free to ask questions; next step is to locate a mental health provider in the area, tell the story, get some tests and/or meds, and start the hard work (to figure out a good solution). Remember, if you ever feel suicidal, that constitutes an emergency and you should go to an er. Best wishes to you.
