If you want to...: ...Lighten your skin tone cosmetically, a variety of otc skin lighteners are available. (avoid the foreign-made ones containing mercury, which are dangerous.) if you have vitiligo and you want to permanently bleach the skin that is not affected, benoquin (monobenzone) can be prescribed by a dermatologist.
