Proper sunscreen: Some ? Increased incidance of various skin cancers in those with episodes of sunburn prior to 21 compaire to those after. Avoiding these issues in childhood makes sense. A SPF 15+ sunscreen for uv a &b when outdoor exposures are planned is part of a healthy lifestyle. Babies can be kept in shaded areas to avoid direct light, sunscreen must be reapplied regularly to be effective.

Lifelong sunblock: Keep your child free from excessive sun exposure. She should wear long sleeves, hats, and use SPF liberally. If family history is strong, regular skin exams by your pcp and/or dermatologist is a good idea.
