Dysguesia: Or altered sense of taste is very common in the first trimester of pregnancy. Some women experience a heightened sense of taste and others a decreased sense. We're not completely sure why--perhaps related to changes in estrogen levels or to swelling at the level of cells or the taste buds. But it happens. And it goes away. So. Hang in there.
