Possibly: If your diabetes & gastroparesis were not longstanding & diabetes truly type 2 and not type 1 then possibly. Gastroparesis can be secondary to untreated celiac & h pylori gastritis as well as side effect from many medications especially narcotics. However, gastroparesis can also be idiopathic with no known cause nor cure. It is a difficult problem to treat if idiopathic. But keep up good work.

Time heals: Gastroparesis can result from gastric nerve damage from excess serum glucose, just as neuropathy can occur in the feet and legs. The build up of glucose impairs circulation, especially to the nerves and other sensitive regions. There may be improvement over months, but don't expect an overnight miracle. Meanwhile, congratlations on the weight loss, and glucose control ! Best Wishes.. Dr Steve
