Many ways: Your child can become nervous, depressed, or develop ptsd. Their sense of self can be whittled away at. They can become suicidal. They can become bitter, angry and vindictive and perhaps vengeful later in life. They may lose respect for you if you do not intervene, but peer pressure may make them feel like a wuss if you do. In severe cases their reputations or lives may be threatened, read"odd girl out".
