Every few months i get bilateral knee effusion that needs draining and a shot. the fluid noninflamatory. why would this keep recurring? no injury

Unexplained effusion: Have you had an MRI yet? You may have articulat cartilage or a meniscal injury. Blood tests can help rule out rheumatologic diseases. Infection sounds unlikely. I recommend you to be evaluated by an orthopaedic doc or if you already have done this, get a 2nd opinion.
