Dyshydrotic eczema: You may need a more potent steroid cream if you have signs of the above mentioned. Let your doc take a look and see what is the most appropriate course of action.

Limit the exposure: Besides the obvious limiting the exposure of your hands (through the use of gloves, or avoiding certain activities), and the lotions, there is not much more to prevent it. Best of luck.
