What is sgpt and ggt?

Liver Enzymes: These are enzymes which are found in the liver cells. Sgpt is an old term - it's now alt (alanine aminotransferase). Ggt stands for gamma glutamyltransferase. When the liver cells are injured, these enzymes leak out and the blood levels increase.
