Couple months: Typically when we start women on the pill, we tell them to expect some breakthrough bleeding. Consider trying it for three months, and make sure you are not smoking or missing any pills. Be sure that you are not pregnant. Pills that only give you a period a few times of year have longer periods of breakthrough bleeding. If it does not stop, see your doctor.
