Benadryl (diphenhydramine): There is no clinical reason why you could not apply Benadryl (diphenhydramine) cream in the ear canal. This of course is if you are not sensitive or allergic to the preparation.

Bad idea: Firstly, Benadryl (diphenhydramine) cream has no indication in the ear. Secondly, from what i understand, Benadryl (diphenhydramine) cream should never be used at all! the reason is because oral Benadryl (diphenhydramine) can save your life if needed and your body can't be desensitized to oral benadryl (diphenhydramine). However your body can be desensitized to topical Benadryl (diphenhydramine) which u never want, bc then oral Benadryl (diphenhydramine) won't work in emergency setting to save your life.
