Age dependent : As children age, heart rate drops to eventually reach adult range. An infant can have a heart rate up to 190 bpm. Children 1-2 up to 130 bpm. Heart rate will increase based on body's needs such as with activity and fever. It is possible for children under 2 to have a heart rate of 175 but it may not be a normal heart rate at rest. http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/003399.htm.
