Patellar fracture: Acutely, splint in full extension. As the fracture heals, you may allow more flexion slowly. If it requires surgical correction, ask for your surgeons protocol.

Bracing 6 weeks: Non displaced fractures are treated in a long leg brace in extension for approximately 6 weeks and then gradual bending is started along with physical therapy to rebuild your atrophied muscles.
