Many treatments: Fibromyalgia is a condition that causes widespread muscular pain that is, by definition, localized to small areas called trigger points. These areas are often too sensitive to massage. Exercise is always helpful.I have seen patients respond to acupuncture. There are a number of medication options. Try, if at all possible, to avoid narcotic pain medications. They may increase sensitivity to pain.

See below: Imo there is no such thing as trigger point pain. A trigger point is a collection of muscle fibers in spasm. It can be primary which is rare, ie, the muscle in spasm for no good reason or trauma to muscle, or secondary, where muscle in spasm due to nerve irritation either periphirally or from nerve root irritation - this is most common.
