Why do some people develop hypertropic cardio myopathy and others not?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Genetics: Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy is a disease of the heart muscle caused by an abnormality in some of the genes that determine the structure of the heart muscle. People who possess the abnormal gene develop hcm; people with the normal gene do not.
