Different viruses: Hpv is human papillomavirus, the cause of cervical and anal dysplasia and cancer. It is not diagnosed by a blood test. Herpes is a different virus, which can cause genital and anal lesions. There is a blood test for it, but is not used for diagnosis: it just tells you whether you've ever been exposed or not.
