No, ....: The antibiotics such as tetracycline, doxycycline, azithromycin, ofloxacin, or erythromycin should not alter the timing of period unless the patient has other mental or physical disorders significantly affecting general health and/or altering sex hormone balance. Chlamydia: Chlamydia infection and its treatment with antibiotics will not delay one's period. Sometimes in the fifth decade it takes longer for ovulation to take place, which does delay the period, since the ovaries need longer to produce a mature egg. If pregnancy is suspected, get a serum HCG test to be certain.
