Interesting question: Unfortunately the amount of alcohol that would have to be involved to dull pain would more than likely make you unconscious and stop breathing. This is not a good option for pain control or change of perception of pain. It is a different amount for different people. If you think you may have a drinking problem, seek help.

Alcohol use: In popular "westerns" alcohol is often used as an anesthetic agents. Much like anti-anxiety medications little actual pain relief is achieved through alcohol consumption, although alcohol use probably somewhat increases the chances of deep stab wounds. All violently caused lacerations or puncture wounds should be treated in the hopsital regardless of the perceived amount of "pain".
