Goals: It really depends on the goals a person has for the exercise, to stay fit, to lose weight, to maintain body weight, etc. The heart rate is actually more relevant in exercise than whether someone sweats or not. Hope this helps.

Sweating: Not necessarily. If you're exercising in a cold climate you might not sweat.
