Cart before horse: It helps a lot more if you're relatively happy and content before having a baby. A lot goes into preparing for and caring for a baby -- and the baby will need you more than you can imagine, before having it! hoping you have a solid relationship with your baby's father-to-be -- that provides more stability, plus can affect your happiness also. A good therapist can help you sort things out.

WRONG QUESTION: If that's a reason to have a baby, you want to really explore your thinking before pregnancy, not after. That's a first step. Try a therapist and see what the basis is of your raising the question. Save trouble later.

Depends: Having a baby is a significant life-changing event and so you need to be physically, emotionally, and financially prepared or having a baby could cause even more stress and burdens than expected. Having a caring and supportive partner will be very important as well. Many people feel that just having a baby will bring two people closer together and fix current problems. Be wise and good luck!
