Depends when you: Are comparing. Lyrica (pregabalin) is a newer neuropathic medication, similar to gabapentin. Cymbalta has been more recently approved for neuropathic pain, but not really new. Topical pain creams are newer and some, mainly the ones containing ketamine, have been shown to improve neuropathic pain significantly. Some new releases of extended release of old meds. Otherwise, not much new. Hope that helps.
