Not really: Evening primrose oil seems better suited for pms symptoms than for menopausal hot flashes. There are better alternatives for menopausal symptoms, such as black cohosh (cimicifuga racemosa): http://tinyurl.Com/m49nkes and sage (salvia officinalis): http://tinyurl.Com/lzjz8dn.

Probably not: Evening primrose oil is safe & a good source of essential gla, but there is little evidence that it helps menopausal symptoms- see http://altmedicine.About.Com/od/womensmenshealth/a/menopause_evening_primrose.Htm other supps are more likely to help, including black cohosh & estrovera (see http://www.Clevelandclinicwellness.Com/features/pages/estrovera.Aspx). Homeopathy can also help a great deal.
