Depends: If they're taking an x-ray of your abdomen, they may want to remove it so it doesn't confuse the picture. But that depends on what they're looking for. If not of the abdomen, it doesn't matter. Metal doesn't really matter for x-rays. If getting an mri, then yes, all piercings have to be removed.
