A 39-year-old member asked:
does it take along time to heal from a kidney infection?
1 doctor answer • 2 doctors weighed in

Dr. Lisa Persaud answered
Hospital-based practice 12 years experience
Depends: A simple UTI usually takes a few days to get better with the right antibiotic. A kidney infection is more serious as it higher up in the urinary tract. The times it takes to heal depends on the severity of the infection and the type of organism it is(some more aggressive). It also depends on how strong your immune system is at fighting the infection.Your doctor can tell you more info!

Does a detoxification mimic all the symptoms of a serious kidney infection?

Dr. John Weeks answered

Probably not: I'm not sure what you mean by detoxification, but having burning with urination, blood in the urine, fever and/or pain under your lower ribs could be a kidney infection. Get a urine test by your doctor.

Very Low Likelihood: Most kidney infections can be treated with oral antibiotics prescribed by your primary care doctor. Most kidney infections start as uti. Once the UTI is treated, it is unlikely that a kidney infection develops and then no hospitals.
