Possibly: In the USA a prescription is required from the usual sources (pharmacies, on line, optical shops) but there are some on line sources that will sell to you without a prescription. These are unstandardized, may be re-packaged, and could cause problems. And of course you can find them if you travel off shore. Is it ok? Possibly but the risk becomes yours.
