Sometimes: Ganglion cysts can fluctuate in size and appear to have resolved. Sometimes they have decreased in size yet can still cause pain. Other times they may not cause any pain at all and subsequently may not require treatment.

No: Ganglion cysts tend to wax and wain depending on you level of activity as they are a direct extension of the joint they arise from. Rarely they will scar down preventing further expansion.
