Do babies with ds always have a single palmar crease?

Usually: If ds means down's syndrome, the single palmar crease is usually present. But this crease may also occur in otherwise normal folks also.

45% do: The single palmar crease, 4 finger line, or simian crease (several names for the same feature) is thought to represent the effect of a lower level of muscle tone during the pregnancy. It is found in 45% +/- of ds infants depending on the study cited. It is found on one side in 4% of normal infants and on both sides in 1%.
