A member asked:

How can you tell if someone is faking a headache?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Malingering: Malingering is intentional deceptive behavior. There is an external/secondary gain present as the main motivation for the behavior. To tell if the headache is fake-a noticable difference between the level of distress/disability claimed by the individual compared to information obtained "objectively" through observation/task performance ability over a specific time period.
