That can happen.: Reasons for an early period can include endometriosis, emergency contraceptives, changes in hormones, polycystic ovarian syndrome, chemotherapy for uterine cancer, perimenopause, eating disorders, intense dieting (especially w high carb diet), marked weight gain, significant over-exercising* anovulatory periods.
