Maybe: Nosebleeds are often caused by environmental conditions, such as a hot, dry climate. In children, nose-picking is a common factor. Poorly controlled hypertension, liver or renal disease, or the use of anticoagulants can also contribute to the cause. Lab tests will be helpful to evaluate these medical factors, but a good nasal exam should first be done to look for primary nasal abnormalities.
