A member asked:

Toddler bitten by fire ants, should i pop the blisters?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No: Fire ants actually inject hydrochloric acid in their bite which will steralize the wound to some degree. If you pop them, you will increase access of skin germs to the wound area.Just keep the rea clean and monitor it for drainage or increasing redness and swelling. It should self heal over a week or more.
