Hello. i got bit by fire ants tuesday morning, and it has developed in to a fairly large blister. i was wondering if i should pop it or not.

Allergic response: This sounds like either a localised allergic response to the bites or development of an abscess. In any case you need to get this examined by a doctor. If there is an abscess they will need to incise and drain it. If its a simple blister it is best drained under sterile conditions or it may get infected. Antihistamines may reduce the reaction. The blister is best kept covered.

Do not pop!!: Never squeeze a bite. I suggest using 1% hydrocortisone cram to the affected area plus Benadryl or Zyrtec for itching and redness. If severe seek medical exam
