Topical clindamycin: This medication is designed to treat acne, so the active ingredient is an antibiotic- clindamycin which targets the germ that causes acne- P. acnes. There are other compounds in the lotion, including cetostearyl alcohol (2.5%) and isostearyl alcohol (2.5%) which could cause skin irritation. (A side effect in about 10% of patients). Talk to a dermatologist about moisturizers given your acne problem
