Yes.: Some people with allergies can have atopic dermatitis that can make skin be itchy, scaly, and/or red. As it heals, you can have some post-inflammatory hypo (light) or hyper (dark) pigmentation. Many times, the skin is still quite scaly. Therefore, the most important part of treatment (maintenance) is keeping your skin moisturized.

Yes: Chronic or severe rashes can change skin color and leave dark and lighter areas. This colr change is difficult to completely resolve. The lighter areas can be repigmented with narrow band uvb or excimer laser. The darker areas can be treated with topical medications to slowly lighten the areas.
