The risk of high dose medications to achieve the ultra-low LDL levels can be seriously detrimental to your health. However, raising HDL with activity and other healthy lifestyle changes can stop plaque in it's tracks to avoid serious complications.

Yes but also LDL etc: Driving low density lipoprotein (fat carrying protein) particle concentrations very low is most proven. But drive functional large high density lipoprotein particle concentrations high also helps, keep blood glucose low (hba1c ~ 5.0 optimal), keeping resting BP low normal, not smoking, minimize processed sugar intake, minimize excess body fat, stay physically active, face & handle emotional stress.
