Several reasons: The most common reasons for heavy vaginal bleeding are fibroids, which are benign tumors, adenomyosis, which is growth of the inside lining of your uterus into the wall of the uterus, or an inbalance of hormones causing thickening of the inside lining, most likely caused by stress, weight changes, or thyroid dysfunction. If it continues, see your gyn for exam, ultrasound and blood work.
