Ocean allergy: The answer is no! fish allergy is due to a reaction to a protein in the fish itself. Some people with severe fish allergy will react even to airborne fish allergen if it is being cooked near them. Sea-bathers eruption is a rash that is caused by swimming in an area which has tiny jelly-fish larvae that have stinging cells called nematocysts, not from fish allergy.
