At onset of puberty: The average boy (if there is such a thing!) have the greatest rate of growth around age14; for girls, around age 12. Then after this oft-noticed growth spurt the growth rate slows down but does not stop until about 17 years old. By this age, most boys have progressed through all 5 stages of puberty into his adult body form.
