Many differences: A person can have both. A sociopath is a person with little to no conscience and a tendency to commit illegal, unethical, or immoral acts without feeling guilt.A person with adhd has trouble with concentration, attention span, impulse control, organization, thinking through consequences, feeling restless, not listening to others, having trouble waiting their turn, and trouble sitting still.

Big difference: Adhd is basically hyperactivity and trouble staying focused and concentrating. This is quite common and perhaps over diagnosed. Sociopathy is very different. In this there is usually trouble following rules/laws. Sociopaths will typically have a defiance to authority, and will often be in trouble with the law/teachers. There can be an overlap between the two conditions.

Totally Different: Adhd refers to having difficulty paying attention while the other refers to the types of relationships someone has. The more current word for sociopathy is antisocial personality disorder & it describes someone who has disregard for the rights of others. A relationship only matters to an antisocial to the degree that s/he can exploit it.

A lot !: There is really no relationship between the 2 conditions (although they are not mutually exclusive). Some of the key features of a sociopath are grandiosity, pathological lying, a lack of remorse/guilt & a willingness to inflict pain, lack of empathy, incapacity for love, lack of depth of feelings, manipulation of others. None of these features are applicable to adhd.

DIfference: ADHD is about a person who cannot pay attention or focus to the point that learning and relating to others can be greatly hampered. A sociopath (AKA antisocial personality disorder) is a person who has little or no conscience or sense of right and wrong, cannot empathize with others, and is at extremely high risk for criminal behavior and exploitation of others.
