Bone spurs: Endplates are vertebral body structures adjacent to the intervertebral disc. Each vertebra has a superior and inferior endplate, with a few exceptions. As one ages , there may be osteophytes that grow from one endplate, around the disc, toward the adjacent endplate, forming a bony bridge between two vertebra.
