Achilles tendinitis : Chronic wear of the tendon insertion on the calcaneus (heel bone) can create a burning sensation. Stretching exercise, silicone heelcups, ice massage and nsaids may help.

Nerve pain: Typically a burning sensation is from a nerve. It could be swelling or plantar fasciitis too.
