Persistent Worry: Generalized anxiety disorder is characterized by a chronic, persistent tendency to worry about many different aspects of life. It may also be associated with physical symptoms related to stress. It is different from panic disorder, which has to do with severe episodes of intense, overwhelming fear. However, it is not unusual for people to struggle with both types of anxiety.
