You don't.: Nitrous oxide (laughing gas) is used today for analgesia (pain relief) and may provide some relaxation. It cannot safely be used for general anesthesia alone but can augment sedation medications for deeper sedation. If you wish to go to sleep, best to see an oral surgeon who can safely administer general anesthesia with intravenous medications and appropriate monitoring.
